Our Story

What started in our kitchen has grown into more than 40 stores across Australia.

Mama Nayture Pty Ltd is a family business in Brisbane. Drink Purple^® is what we make. This is how it happened.

It started because we could not find one

Like most people who end up making something, we started as the customer.

We wanted something to support our own child through the cold months. Something we could give every day without thinking twice. What we found on the shelf was either a long ingredient list that needed Googling, or a sweetened confection with a health claim on the front.

So we made our own, in our kitchen, the way people have made elderberry syrup for generations.

Then we got it right properly

A kitchen batch for your own family is one thing. Something you put on a shelf for someone else's family is another.

We worked with a naturopath and a food scientist to get the formulation right, and we kept the same rule the whole way through.

If we wouldn't give it to our own kids every day, it didn't make the cut.

That rule is why there are nine ingredients and not nineteen. It is why the sweetener is raw honey rather than glucose syrup. It is why the vitamin C comes from rosehips rather than a factory. And it is why the one preservative in the bottle comes from an edible mushroom, and why we wrote an entire page explaining it instead of hoping nobody would ask.

What we make

One syrup, in two sizes, and a tea.

• Drink Purple 350ml. The family bottle. Lives in the fridge.
• Drink Purple 60ml Mini. The handbag, lunchbox and travel size.
• Winta Blend. A loose leaf herbal tea, for the grown ups, at nine at night.

We have been asked more than once why we do not extend the range. The honest answer is that we would rather make three things properly than fourteen things adequately.

Made here, in small batches

Every bottle is made in Queensland, in small batches, and lab tested. Those two things go together. Small batches are only worth anything if you actually test them, and testing is only worth anything if the batch is small enough to stand behind.

Five things are printed on the front of every bottle, because they are the five things a parent checks before they buy.

Where we are now

Drink Purple is on the shelf in more than 40 independent health food stores, wholefood grocers and pharmacies across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. You can find your closest one here.

In 2026, Drink Purple was named a finalist in the Clean + Conscious Awards, including the Kids Nutrition category.

None of that happened because of advertising. It happened because independent store owners tried it, believed in it, and put it on their shelf. To every store and every family who backed us, thank you. Truly.
